Bridal portraits or “bridals” originated in Europe long before World War II. Bridals were a commissioned oil painting by the bride’s family as a symbol of the happy occasion. Now bridal portraits are taken 1-2 months before the wedding in outdoor locations or at the wedding venue and displayed by the cake or the guest book for everyone to see.

There are many reasons to have bridal portraits but here are the top reasons we share with our brides:

  • It is a good trial run for your day: You get to have your hair and makeup done and your floral bouquet created, all of which are important on your wedding day. If you don’t like something about these three aspects you can change them before the big day.
  • Stress Free: During this session it is a stress free time, we aren’t rushing around or on a time schedule we are just capturing YOU.
  • Get Comfortable: This is a chance for you to get comfortable in front of the camera and also make sure you are comfortable in your gown
  • Less time on wedding day: Doing your bridals ahead of time, creates more time for other photos during your big day.
