Your engaged; now what?
You’re about to embark on one of the happiest times in your life, but it feels so stressful as you are committing your life to your partner and simultaneously want to create the most fabulous party of the season.
Don’t let it be!
Enjoy this time, buy your bridal magazine, pop in the wedding planner, and start to create the wedding Pinterest board. Remember, the average engagement lasts nine months to a year; you have time, relax and enjoy this process.
Here are the first three things we recommend you do after getting engaged
1. Call your family!
They are going to want to enjoy this time with you also. How excited they must be to see their child/family member engaged to the love of their life! Your mom is going to want to get started planning right away.
2. Enjoy and sit down with each other for a moment
Sit down and relax with your fiance; enjoy this time. You don’t want to stop enjoying this time or make any of it stressful. During this time, take time to talk to your fiance about each of your needs and wants for your wedding day—location, theme, food, bar, etc.
3. Insure your engagement ring!
Call and compare a few insurance companies and get your engagement ring insured! Mine is through Jewelers Mutual.
I almost lost my engagement ring while vacationing because I wasn’t used to wearing rings…I removed it to put lotion on my hands and forgot it on the chair I was sitting on…Good thing it was still there when we went back to look for it. But I was also glad I had insurance on it for just in case…
