The Santiago Estate + Vineyard is hidden in the Hills of the Santiago Canyon in Orange County; this Mansion is one of its kind and has endless, picturesque views. Santiago Estate & Vineyard is known for their Ethnic and Cultured Weddings. Earlier this year, we had the absolute honor of capturing Sanjna and Suraj’s Indian wedding. Their wedding was the first Indian wedding we had captured, so it was extra special to us.

Sanjna and Suraj are one of the friendliest and most laid-back couples we’ve worked with this year. They are easygoing, humble, and generous, and we loved getting to know them throughout their engagement and ultimately meeting their amazing families on their wedding day.

Before the wedding day started, Sanjna and Suraj opted to do a first look together. They shared an intimate few minutes and read their personal vows to each other on the balcony overlooking the beautiful hills of the Santiago Canyon. This part was so special to us.

Their wedding included a Baraat and a traditional Indian ceremony. A Baraat is a procession with music and dancing that leads the groom into the ceremony, typically lasting about an hour. The groom is met with garlands from the bride’s family, and the “elders” of both families come together. The Baraat signifies that a groom in old Indian tradition used to walk 5-7 days to get home to his bride.

Sanjna and Suraj had a traditional Indian wedding ceremony filled with stunning bright details, so much love, and family traditions that we loved documenting. The reception was by the pool and included many bright and colorful flowers, fantastic food, and traditional Indian wedding dances. The dance floor was packed all night long! The guest tables had blush tablecloths, lush flowers, and gold tableware.

Sanjna had two stunning Saris on their wedding day. A Sari is considered a right of passage. Brides wear a red Sari at the beginning of the day; a red Sari symbolizes new beginnings, prosperity, and passion. Sanjna wore a red Sari during the ceremony, and a stunning green Sari adorned with crystals for reception.

We are fortunate to capture many different ethnic weddings each year, and seeing everyone’s family traditions is so special to us. Thank you, Sanjna and Suraj, for allowing us the honor of capturing your wedding day!
