maternity session information and Faqs
Welcome to Moments by Two Fourteen Photography. Congratulations on your pregnancy and we’re honored you’re here.
We know that this is a very important and exciting part of your life. We particularly love maternity sessions as it embodies the special transformation of love, elegance, and life.
With every maternity session, each moment we capture may be the one moment in your life that will be shared from generation to generation. Even without written words or commentary, our focus is to have that captured moment tell a story about you and your growing family.
We service maternity photography sessions in both Los Angeles County and Orange County.

frequently asked questions
It’s best to schedule your maternity photography session between your 7th and 8th months of pregnancy (28-34 weeks). This is to make sure you have the perfect baby bump for your session.
If you’re having multiples, we recommend having it a little earlier, about 6 or 7 months (24-30 weeks).
We have also scheduled maternity sessions as early as a few weeks for pregnancy announcements and gender reveals.
For ideal lighting, we schedule all our sessions in the evening just about an hour before sunset. Depending on the season the time will vary.
If that doesn’t work for you, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
We typically do not schedule sessions for noon/early afternoon due to harsh lighting (creates shadows on faces) unless absolutely necessary and or if we choose a location that would provide sufficient shade/cover for less than ideal lighting conditions.
Your outfit or wardrobe is very important and we will coordinate to make sure that you have picked an outfit perfect for your session depending on the look you’re going for.
All our collections come with a pre-session consultation. This is when we will plan your wardrobe and we will make suggestions. Please check out our maternity gallery for inspiration.
Long, flowy, earthy tones or neutral colored dresses are our favorite for maternity sessions.
This is entirely up to you. However, from our experience, unless you are really good at doing your own make-up, we suggest getting it done professionally.
For Long Beach based clients, please contact Jyz Reyes-Padilla for make-up and hair styling needs for your maternity session.
Yes, of course! We would love it if your husband and your children join the session. It would make the session even more fun and memorable.
Please understand that sessions are timed and the more time used for “family” portraits will decrease the amount of time to focus on your maternity session.
The session will be 60 minutes. We ask that you arrive early to be ready to shoot at the agreed time.
No, we do not have an actual studio space. We specialize in natural lighting and we do all our sessions on location.
We can book a studio per your request. Additional fees for renting a studio will apply and will vary depending on the studio.
We are based in Long Beach and we also service both the Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Please check out the different locations we can choose for your session below.
Being based in Southern California, we are fortunate to have plenty of options when it comes to locations.
During the pre-session consultation we will discuss the type of look and feel you are looking for. From there we can better suggest a location that would work best for you.
We have done maternity and family sessions all over Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Orange County.
Because each session is unique, the number of photographs will vary.
Typically, you can expect at least 60 images to proof in your online gallery from a 60-minute maternity photography session.
We select and deliver only the best images to your private online gallery for proofing or viewing.
To ensure the highest quality of workmanship, it may take up to 3 weeks to receive your online gallery from the date of the session.
