We had been waiting for Lexi + Patrick’s wedding for what felt like forever! The night before each wedding, we both get giddy like it is the first day of school because we have spent so many months learning about them as a couple and becoming more than just their photographer. We have become their friends. If you read our blog post about Lexi and Patrick’s engagement session, then you know how much fun we had!
Wedding Venue
Their wedding took place at The Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach. The Shade Hotel is a gorgeous modern-style hotel that overlooks one of the best marines in Redondo Beach. Their unique setting blends the indoors and outdoors traditional concept, creating a relaxed yet lively environment.
Getting Ready
We captured the ladies enjoying mimosas, getting their hair and makeup done and we also got to capture Lexi’s gown, shoes, invitations, and jewelry. Simultaneously, in a separate room, captured Patrick and his groomsmen getting ready.
First Looks and Bridal Party
The bridal party wore gorgeous purple gowns, and the groomsmen wore black tux jackets with black pants and black bowties. Lexi and Patrick’s first look to a place overlooking the water; it was intimate and emotional. After the first looks came bridal party pictures, we popped champagne, got excited, and it was time to walk down the aisle.
Ceremony
The ceremony directly overlooks the marina, which had perfect lighting for pictures. The sun was setting when they said their “I dos,” and it was magical.
Reception
The reception took place in one of The Shade Hotel’s banquet room with purple uplighting and tablescapes decorated in gorgeous purple floral. Speeches were said, the cake was cut, dinner was excellent, and the last few hours were spent dancing.
