We love photographing newborn sessions especially because we have been photographing most of our families for years and have captured a lot of their milestones in life.

Preparing for a newborn session can be a little diffrent than preparing for a regular family session.

Here are our top five suggestions when getting ready for our session:

  • Keep your baby awake a little longer than normal, you want them to sleep during the session. This will ensure that you have a smooth session.
  • Keep your baby undressed and just in a swaddle until we arrive so we can change them and adjust when we arrive and there is not a ton of movement the hour before.
  • Feed your baby 30 minutes before she they have a full tummy and won’t want to eat during the session. This will make for a very happy baby!
  • Wait to get ready yourself until we are photographing your little one. Your baby can smell you and when you are around they might want you and might want to stay awake. So we say take this time when we are doing solo pictures of the baby to get ready!
