There are a lot of factors when determining your wedding day photography timeline, but the first question we always ask is will you be doing a first look or will you be seeing each other for the first time when you walk down the aisle?
What is a first look:
The first look is a modern tradition involving a one-on-one photo session between the couple where they see each other for the first time prior to the ceremony. This showcases the wedding dress, the and the first look in your partner’s eyes. This is a very intimate moment for couples.
We ask this question when planning the timeline because this is the main factor that will determine when the bulk of your pictures will take place. If you are doing a first look we always recommend doing your bridal party pictures and your family pictures before the ceremony this also gives you a little more time for photos. We will also do your couples portraits during this time (and at sunset). You then you can enjoy your cocktail hour with your family and friends.
If you are seeing each other for the first time when you walk down the aisle we will do pictures with your bridal party and family after the ceremony during the cocktail hour. This will take up the full hour and then we will do the bulk of your couples portraits during sunset.
