We finally got to shoot an engagement session at the Iconic Greystone Mansion In Beverly Hills earlier this summer! Christina and Jake were a dream to work with, and they picked the best location for their engagement session.
About Greystone Mansion
Greystone Mansion, a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds to restore, preserve and protect Doheny Greystone Estate. Founded by the Friends of Greystone, Greystone is owned by the City of Beverly Hills and is considered among California’s most luxurious residences south of Hearst Castle. Friends of Greystone also use the property to provide educational programs to students, residents of Beverly Hills, and the general public.
Why We Love Greystone
When you step onto the property, you first think, am I actually in Los Angeles? Greystone gives off very Italian villa vibes and truly feels like you are in a European city or country. Once you’re there you will see how well maintained the grounds are. And, there are so many backdrop choices. This venue has the perfect aesthetic for a couple looking for something a little different for their session.
Do you need a Permit to Photograph at The Venue?
If you are looking to book Greystone Mansion for your shoot, there is a permit involved with shooting there. It isn’t as easy as you may think to get! To obtain the permit, you must call exactly two weeks ahead of time (not they are not open on the weekends for calls). When you call, you request your desired time, and they say yes, it’s available, or no.
You are only allowed to shoot at the venue for up to two hours, and there can only be a max of 6 guests, including the photographer. The current permit costs are $284/hour (Beverly Hills residents) and $349/hour (non-residents).
